To celebrate Earth Day 2024 and promote regional biodiversity, the Watershed Studies Institute, the Departments of Biological Sciences and Art, and the Murray Art Guild are working together to sponsor the Second Annual Open Juried Biodiversity-themed Art Exhibition, Nature: The Beauty of Diversity, during April 2024. The goal of this collaborative event is to highlight biodiversity at multiple scales across and within species and ecosystems and to promote biodiversity appreciation in the region and beyond through various creative art forms.
The exhibit will be on display in the Biology Atrium on Murray State University's main campus from April 12 to April 25. There will be a public reception on April 25 from 5 to 6 pm.
The Merryman House Spiritual Enrichment Program warmly invites you to attend The 3rd Annual Nehemiah Project. This one-day conference will link a morning training opportunity for church leaders and members with an afternoon training for victim service providers, prosecutors, officers of the court, law enforcement agencies and hospital personnel.
The conference speakers will engage with attendees over a lunchtime Q&A panel.

A self-taught artist and cabinet maker from Fulton, Kentucky, Henderson was an artist with a disability whose paintings and carved birds of the southern United States won accolades and fans among art collectors and others.
A launch party for this exhibit will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. with a short program discussing Henderson’s art with Discovery Park senior director of exhibits and collections, Jennifer Wildes. This event is FREE for all guests. Light refreshments will be served.
Beginner Still Life Oil Paint ClassThe class will focus on basic color mixing technique, sketching on canvas and basic paint application. Beginning oil painting assumes little or no past instruction or experience in painting with oils. The color and application approach is also suitable for acrylics and gouache if that is your preferred medium.

Lucy is a self-taught artist and has been painting for about 6 years. She received instruction from courses at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art in Augusta, GA. She was an organizing member of the plein air painting group Plein Air Augusta. She was also a member of the Mascaro Studio Group.

Join us for an introductory class using the Powermatic CNC Router. With advances in technology and software, modern workshop CNC routers enable even novice woodworkers to produce all sorts of projects. One CNC can replace many tools that were traditionally necessary for most workshops!
