A new poll shows 78 percent of Kentuckians support the legalization of medical marijuana, while others would be fine with widespread legalization.

The Kentucky Health Issues Poll has conducted polling on a wide array of issues for the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky over the past few months, from a statewide smoking ban to health insurance coverage.

For the second year in a row, a poll shows a majority of Kentucky favor a statewide smoking ban.

Last year the poll, conducted by the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky, showed a majority favored a ban for the first time.

Health organization starts grant program to fight chronic diseases

A statewide health organization is planning a five-year, three million dollar grant program to help reduce chronic diseases in the Commonwealth.

The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky wants to help up to ten communities fight the spread of chronic diseases in young people.

A new survey shows Kentucky parents think school lunches aren’t as nutritious as they should be. The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky's statewide report says eighty-eight percent of parents surveyed said schools should serve healthy food, but only one in four thought that’s what their children got.

The Kentucky Health Issues Poll is conducted annually by the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky. The latest poll for last year was just released this week and found many Kentuckians worry about childhood obesity and depression.
