Mother of Kidnapped Woman Files Lawsuit

A Madisonville woman whose daughter was kidnapped more than 17 years ago is suing the Kentucky State Police, Henderson Police Department, FBI and others involved in the unsolved case.

Sarah Teague 's suit alleges malfeasance in the case of her missing daughter Heather Teague who disappeared in August 1995 from a Henderson County beach. In Teague's hand-written complaint she accuses law enforcement of not doing enough to solve her daughter's kidnapping.

14 Arrested in Calloway on Drug Charges

Kentucky State Police arrested 14 Calloway Countians early this morning in a county-wide drug sweep. The arrests followed eight months of investigation into illegal drug trafficking in and around Murray. KSP Troop Jay Thomas says charges included drug trafficking and possession of marijuana, crack cocaine, and meth.

Summer enforcement project nets Ky. arrests

After three months of stepped-up enforcement on Kentucky's highways, police say the project resulted in apprehension of 41 fugitives as well as thousands of drunken-driving and drug arrests. The effort, called Operation B.L.U.E. Lights, began June 1^st and ended Labor Day. Kentucky State Police held over 1,600 safety checkpoints across the Commonwealth to draw attention to unsafe driving and reduce traffic deaths. Over 2,000 D-U-I arrests and almost 1,500 hundred drug arrests were made.

Kentucky State Penitentiary Warden Retiring

The man who has led the Kentucky State Penitentiary for the past two and a half years is leaving his post at the end of the week. This will be the second time Philip W. Parker has retired from the position.
