Paducah’s Yeiser Art Center opens a solo exhibition of Southern Indiana artist Rob Millard-Mendez later this month. Much of the sculpture in his show harkens back to his youth onboard his father’s fishing boat in Massachusetts. Millard-Mendez blends a wry sense of humor with an unusual amount of depth in his work. Drew Adams speaks with Mendez about his work and sense of humor.

The opening reception for Rob Millard Mendez’s “A Futile Armada” is Saturday August 18th at Paducah’s Yeiser Art Center.

Paducah in 3rd Place in Contest to Premiere "Bully"

A contest is on to bring the controversial movie “Bully” to 10 towns around the U.S. for a free premiere and Paducah is one of the top contenders. The Demand It! contest website has Paducah in 3^rd place for the movie, which goes to the top ten cities with the most votes. The contest ends Friday at 2 pm.

David Leonardis on Howard Finster: American Visionary Folk Artist

The Paducah School of Art opens the exhibition “Howard Finster Vision House Touring Exhibit” at the Clemens Fine Arts Center Gallery at West Kentucky Community and Technical College this evening. The show’s curator, David Leonardis owns a Chicago gallery with contemporary, pop and folk art, photography and late 19^th and early 20^th century French lithographs.
