Guild Director Debi Danielson visits Sounds Good with a few of the hand-made bowls contributed by local artists. The conversation covers stunning statistics about hunger in our county and Commonwealth. The dinner is out doors on the grounds of the Guild at 500 North 4th Street, and while there are over 200 bowls ready for the soup made by MSU Nutrition students, Danielson says there will be lines and the bowls will go quickly.

Fri, 19 Oct 2012 15:21:11 +0000 Kate Lochte 23449 at http://wkms.org Raising Money for Needline of Calloway County One Bowl at a Time MSU Alumna Finds Insomnia Relief Listening to BBC World Service http://wkms.org/post/msu-alumna-finds-insomnia-relief-listening-bbc-world-service
Murray State Alumna Jo Dortch is a retired math teacher living in Paducah. During the event, patrons purchased $15 tickets and filled handmade bowls with food donated from local restaurants. All proceeds benefited the Paducah Community Kitchen. Now, as the second annual Empty Bowls approaches, WKMS’ Casey Northcutt takes a look at one woman who has spent the past year glazing bowls for the project, and in doing so, she has nourished her own soul.
Fri, 24 Feb 2012 21:44:39 +0000 Casey Northcutt 17042 at http://wkms.org Jo Dortch & the Empty Bowls Project
