Sounds of the Silver Screen Returns to WKMS

Host David Weatherly brings a new season of Sounds of the Silver Screen, replacing the first hour of On Stage, Sundays at 7 p.m. June 5 through July 24. Sounds of the Silver Screen is a long standing original series of cinematic soundtracks produced in WKMS studios. This summer listen for the following themed shows: Baseball! "The Boys of Summer," Westerns! "Go West," Dreams! "Perchance to Dream," Nuns! "Hard Habit to Break," Boxing! "The Sweet Science," Revenge! "A Dish Best Served Cold...," Wolves! "Where Wolf?," and Submarines! "One of Our Submarines."

Some of the movies David will pull from this season include recent films like Inception, The Fighter, True Grit, and older favorites such as The Babe, Blazing Saddles, Amelie, and Rocky.

David Weatherly works at WKMS part-time while holding down a full-time job as a School Based Speech Language Pathologist. He has been with WKMS for almost 20 years off and on and has a lifelong interest in music of all kinds which he pours into all of his shows. He was the host of the live show, Jazz Horizons and is currently the host of House Blend on Friday nights.
