Jenni Todd, a native of Murray, attended Murray State University for her undergraduate degree in Music Education. After graduation, she attended Florida State University and received a Masters degree in Arts Administration from the FSU College of Music. Equipped with knowledge and enthusiasm for the arts, administration, and fundraising, Jenni participated in an internship with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra in Pensacola, Florida. She later worked for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, in Columbus, Ohio, as Donor Relations and Stewardship Manager. Jenni returned to her home state of Kentucky in 2007. She and her husband, Matthew, have a daughter, Susie, and a Standard Poodle, Lola.

Sounds of the Silver Screen Returns with a New Season

WKMS Producer David Weatherly begins a new season of Sounds of the Silver Screen on WKMS Sunday, June 3 at 7 p.m.  Weatherly's fascination with cinematic soundtracks has led him to continue creating Sounds of the Silver Screen for WKMS during summertime months. The new season airs Sundays in June and July.

Listeners Reach WKMS Spring Fundraiser Goal

Dedicated listeners and underwriters met the WKMS spring fundraiser goal of $130,000 in community support in early May. WKMS-FM is the listener supported public media service of Murray State University, serving southernmost Illinois, northwestTennessee, and western Kentucky. Individual contributions and matching grants go to the WKMS budget for programming, transmission, and related expenses for the 100,000 watt public service.

WKMS Broadcasts Live from LowerTown Arts and Music Festival

Murray State's listener supported public radio service 91.3 WKMS presents a special live broadcast from the Main Stage of Paducah’s LowerTown Arts and Music Festival on Friday, May 18, at 7 p.m. WKMS Program Director and Beyond the Edge host Tracy Ross emcees the live broadcast preempting World Café and House Blend. This marks the second consecutive year WKMS has partnered with the LowerTown Arts and Music Festival for a live broadcast from the festival.

American Routes Returns to WKMS Schedule

Murray State’s public radio service 91.3 WKMS expands the diverse array of American music on its program schedule by adding American Routes beginning Sunday, April 29, at 2 p.m. Host Nick Spitzer, a veteran radio personality, folklorist and professor of anthropology and American studies at Tulane University, brings American Routes to nearly one million listeners on public radio station nationwide each week.

WKMS News Wins Associated Press Awards

The Kentucky Associated Press has notified WKMS News that its work for Murray State’s listener supported radio service has won two 1st place awards of excellence in its newly reorganized non-commercial radio category of competition. WKMS was among first-place winners with “The Best of Show” award in the Radio category.  Radio stations across the Commonwealth participated in the 2012 Kentucky Associated Press Awards competition.

Hundreds of Students Celebrate Poetry and Tell Journey Stories

WKMS-FM and Murray State University’s Teacher Quality Institute have teamed up for the fifth year of a special project during April, National Poetry Month. WKMS broadcastsPoetry Minutes, short poems by students in western Kentucky public schools, that air at 7:19 a.m. and 4:19 p.m. weekdays through Monday, April 30. Poems will also be posted on the station’s website wkms.org, along with the Journey Stories images that inspired them, so the work of the young writers can be heard any time.
