Even though his actually birthday is not until March 2, the Calloway County Public Library will kick off the festivities for Dr. Seuss's birthday Wednesday.
Sandy Linn, the library's community relations coordinator, said on Sounds Good that this year's guest readers for the event will include students from the Murray State University Literacy Honors Society. She said local Zumba instructors Janice Thomason, Sam Fuller and Desiree Fuller have put together at least three musical pieces for dance and exercise fun.
Registration for the event, which is designed for preschool-2nd graders, will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the library.
Other upcoming activities include Dr. James Humphries speaking as part of the library's MSU Department of History spring lecture series at 2 p.m. Sunday and a Zumba-thon March 18 at 2 p.m.
