Donations made to the Ag Tag Fund through the Kentucky Farm License Plate donation program totaled $540,357  in fiscal year 2015. That money goes toward 4-H, Future Farmers of America, and department of agriculture promotional activities like Kentucky Proud.

Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles promoted the Ag Tag program at the Murray-Calloway County Chamber of Commerce breakfast in Murray Wednesday morning.

“It’s a wonderful program that directly supports agriculture youth development programs. And the best thing about it is that money comes back to the county which it was donated from. Therefore, if those folks here in Calloway County, if we get a lot of donations on their farm tags, that money comes back to support their local 4-H and FFA clubs,” Quarles said.

Daviess and Muhlenberg were among the top 10 counties for total Ag Tag donations in 2015, with $15,380 and $14,010 contributions respectively. Kentucky Ag Tag donations have generated more than $1.8 million since 2012.
