Arrest Made In McCracken County Cold Case That’s Over A Decade Old

A McCracken County Grand Jury has indicted a Louisville man in connection with a 2005 sexual assault, following work from Attorney General Andy Beshear’s Cold Case Unit.

Louisville Police arrested 45-year-old Jason Todd Langston this week on a warrant issued from McCracken County Circuit Judge.

Langston faces rape, sodomy and unlawful imprisonment charges in connection with a sexual assault of a minor.

The McCracken County Grand Jury’s indictment comes with the aid of  DNA evidence obtained from a Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence or SAFE kit.

Beshear said the Cold Case unit he established last year from a nearly$3 million grant currently has 10 open investigations. He said Langston’s indictment is one of the first in his efforts to ensure all SAFE kits are tested and that investigations are used to prosecute all alleged perpetrators.

Langston’s next scheduled court appearance is October 15.
