[Audio] 2nd Annual Creative Industry Summit in Owensboro, Next Thursday

The Kentucky Arts Council is getting ready for a big creative industry summit in Owensboro on November 12 and 13, featuring national, state and local experts discussing the creative industry in the arts and related topics. On Sounds Good, Tracy Ross speaks with Emily Moses, Creative Industry Manager, about workshops for both community organizations and individual artists seeking to establish or expand place making initiatives across the Commonwealth.

Workshop tracks involve community development in the arts for establishing place making initiatives or increasing existing efforts. Also, for artist entrepreneurs, individual artists and arts businesses can learn how to take their acumen to the next level with opportunities to learn how to increase their business skills and essentials of running a business, marketing and promotions.

On Friday, speakers discuss ways the Arts Council has supported and plans to grow the creative industry; and a national picture of the industry and economy. Breakout sessions involve place making, government support for the arts and creative convergence with other industries, ending with a panel on funding opportunities and resources.
