Brynn Jones and Jake Hunter, cast members from Playhouse in the Park’s Beauty and the Beast, speak with Tracy Ross a perform a snippet of the show on Sounds Good.
So many people auditioned for Beauty and the Beast that the director decided to have two casts, which Jones and Hunter say is helpful when a cast member can’t make it to the show because they can just swap in the double. The show is so popular with the community that it sold out before the first performance, even after Playhouse in the Park added an extra two shows.
When you think of Beauty and the Beast, your mind may automatically jump to the classic Disney animated movie. But Jones and Hunter say there are so many more songs in the musical that it is hard to compare to the movie.
The show runs this weekend and next weekend Thursday through Sunday for a total of 10 shows. Also, this Sunday and Monday there are auditions for the musical Godspell. More information at playhousemurray.org.
