Benton Laborer Drew Williams Running for Kentucky House District 6 Rep.

Drew Williams via Facebook

Benton Kentucky laborer Drew Williams is running as a democrat for House District 6 Representative.

Williams is 25-years-old and managed Sam Gaskin’s campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives. He said he is running because he wants to help his community and be a part of the political conversation. Williams said the current political climate has emboldened more young people to “step up and take the mantle.”

“We’re here to have a conversation. We’re here to make everything better. There’s a lot of points like education, infrastructure and law enforcement and first responders that we can talk about and we can move forward with helping protect those areas without having to get into these nitty-gritty areas that everyone wants to argue about and draw lines in the sand.”

Williams said he believes economic security, labor and education are the issues most important to Kentuckians. He said he wants to repeal right-to-work laws and move Kentucky into a more “pro-labor” state. District 6 includes Marshall and Lyon counties and part of McCracken county.
