Beshear Holds Off Suing Governor for Restructuring Boards

Kentucky's attorney general says he'll hold off suing Republican Governor Matt Bevin over his executive order restructuring several public education boards.

Attorney General Andy Beshear said Thursday he will give Bevin more time to rescind or modify his executive order. But Beshear says he's ready to take the governor to court again.

Beshear said last week he would sue the governor for a fourth time if he didn't revoke the executive order. At the time, Beshear gave Bevin seven days to rescind the order. Beshear says his office received notification from the governor's office on Wednesday that the governor intends, at the least, to alter his executive order by Friday.

Beshear has already won a case against Bevin at the state Supreme Court while two others are still pending.
