Beshear will miss Fancy Farm for economic trip
Governor Steve Beshear is on his way to Germany and France to help economic development in Kentucky.
In May, the governor spent time in Taiwan and Japan for an economic development trip.
The Governor's office says the trip will last a few weeks, meaning Beshear will miss the annual Fancy Farm political picnic on August 4. Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson will also miss the picnic, according to the Kentucky Democratic Party.
House Speaker Greg Stumbo will speak at the picnic in their place.
