Bevin in Marshall Co. Supporting Two Businesses Bringing Nearly 200 Jobs to Region

Governor Matt Bevin joined western Kentucky officials and business leaders in Marshall County Tuesday for the ground breaking and ribbon cutting of two businesses expanding, looking to create nearly 200 jobs in the region.

With local executives from Champion Home Builders  Inc., Bevin cut a ribbon for their $6.3 million manufacturing facility in Benton. The company looks to create 150 jobs. The 100,000 square-foot facility is located on Venture Lane. The new facility will produce manufactured, modular and mobile homes for distribution to retailers.

Bevin later joined Independent Stave Co. LLC executives to break ground on their second Kentucky mill, which will produce barrel staves for the bourbon and whiskey industry. The $18 million project will create 47 full-time positions. The 50,000 square-foot mill is located on a 48-acre property in Marshall County. The new mill will increase the number of barrels the company makes each year. The company chose the location for the sourcing of white oak logs in the county.  Company executives expect completion by July 2017.
