The American Film Institute calls it one of the best and most inspirational films ever made... It's A Wonderful Life directed by Frank Capra, stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a man who had given up on living until meeting his guardian angel who shows him how different life would have been had ne never been born. West Kentucky Community and Technical College hosts a photography contest complementing the community read of “Half Broke Horses,” by Jeannette Walls.  Photos should focus on horses or images including horses.  Entries are accepted through February 4.  Learn more at westkentucky.kctcs.edu. 

Maiden Alley Cinema in Paducah presents “Anna Karenina” beginning this weekend.  The adaptation of Tolstoy’s classic novel stars Kiera Knightley and Jude Law.  Set in late-19th-century Russia, Anna enters into a life-changing affair with Count Vronsky.  Find showtimes and ticket information at maidenalleycinema.com.

Community musicians offer a performance of Handel’s Messiah on Saturday.  Doug Van Fleet leads the chorus and orchestra.  The concert begins at 7PM at the Heartland Worship Center in Paducah.  Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.
