FEMA Operations at Ft. Campbell Winding Down
By Carrie Pond
Ft. Campbell, KY – Disaster aid operations are winding down at Fort Campbell's Sabre Heliport, which served as a staging area during recovery efforts from the January 27th ice storm. FEMA Public Information Officer Tom Kempton says officials have completed the commodity distribution mission. More than 1 point 4 million meals and 2 million bottles of water were distributed across the region from Ft. Campbell. He says FEMA is now working to recover approximately 155 commercial generators that were delivered to county agencies during the disaster. Kempton says once recovered, those generators will be left at distribution centers until the next time they are needed.
