A groundbreaking ceremony for a new Google Data Center in Clarksville is at 1:30 on Friday.

That's according to the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

The data center will be Google’s 15th global data center and the eighth in the country.

The 600 million dollar investment will transform the former Hemlock Semiconductor site into a data center and is expected to create more than 70 jobs.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan said in 2015 that Google wants to be a partner in the community’s growth.
