In the first three months since its launch, more than 100,000 Kentucky voters have used the online registration portal GoVoteKY.com.

Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes has toured each of Kentucky’s public universities promoting the feature to students and young voters.

She says the site will help close a nearly one-third voter registration gap, improve the accuracy of voter rolls and save the state major costs.

According to Grimes’ office, early 8,000 first time voters used the site to register, including 2,300 18-year-olds.

In addition to online voter registration, GoVoteKY also includes a portal for overseas and military voters, sample ballots, voting locations and election results.
