A Henry County High School teacher was suspended late last month for alleged inappropriate communication with a student.
WKMS News obtained a document from the Tennessee Board of Education stating the suspension of Blair Chadwick was November 28.
Director of Schools Brian Norton wrote he was suspended for three days following a report he had inappropriate conversations on Snapchat with three female students during Thanksgiving break. Chadwick allegedly contacted female students, provided his Snapchat username and told them to keep it a secret. He then asked one of them to play 20 questions. Questions involved their preference for “blondes or brown-haired boys” and whether they like “tall or short boys.”
According to the report, the students said they felt “weirded out” and uncomfortable because he served as their director of The Madrigals singing ensemble.
Norton wrote the school and district administration are investigating whether there is any additional concern.
Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew said his office is investigating the situation but there are no reportable findings at this time.
Norton, Chadwick and Principal Michele Webb have not responded to requests for comment.
