A Henry County teacher faces arraignment today on numerous charges regarding unlawful sexual contact with a student.

Kevin Smothers, 26, of McKenzie, TN was arrested earlier this month and charged with one count Sexual Battery, two counts of Soliciting Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure and one count Soliciting Sexual Exploitation of a Minor by Electronic Means.

The charges involve a sixteen-year-old student at Henry County High School.

County Circuit Clerk Mike Wilson says Smothers faces arraignment today in Henry County General Sessions Court and that there is a $100,000 bail on all charges.
