The Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal collision near the Hickman/Fulton County line following a pursuit initiated by the Fulton Police Department.
Preliminary investigation shows a Fulton Police officer attempted to stop Harold Nichols of Rutherford, TN, who was reportedly driving a stolen vehicle from a Mayfield dealership at 1am Wednesday night.
Nichols failed to stop and a pursuit with speeds nearing 120 miles per hour ensued. Near the Hickman County line, Nichols lost control and collided with a tree. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
