Hopkins Co. Sheriff Seeks Info Related to Bank Robbery in Mortons Gap

The Hopkins County Sheriff's Office is seeking information pertaining to a possible bank robbery on Wednesday in Mortons Gap. 

Police said in a release on Wednesday that officers responded to a possible bank robbery at the U.S. Bank at 12:18 p.m.

An investigation found that a male subject entered the bank dressed in black shoes, black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt. His face was covered and he was wearing large sunglasses. The subject brandished a weapon and demanded money.

He then fled the scene on foot and is believed to have left the area in a vehicle with an unknown amount of money.

Police ask anyone with information to contact Detective Joe Stratton at 270-821-5661.
