Thursday's arrest is the latest in a series of incidents at schools in the region following the deadly shooting at Marshall County High School on Tuesday.

Calloway County Sheriff's Office said late Wednesday night they had charged a 14-year-old student with falsely reporting an incident. This charge followed numerous complaints to the Calloway County School system of social media posts of a threat against the high school. An investigation found no credible threat.

Madisonville Police said in a release Wednesday they received threats against Hopkins County Schools via social media on Tuesday night. The police collaborated with the Hopkins County Police and Hopkins County Schools to investigate the threats. Madisonville police arrested two Hopkins county juveniles who were identified as the creators of the threats. During the course of the investigation it was determined that the threats were a hoax to close schools.

Livingston County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday night on Facebook that they also had received calls regarding a potential shooting at a Livingston County school. Police say they had investigated the threat and found no information to believe it is anything other than a threat. Sheriff Bobby Davidson wrote on Facebook, "The situation at Marshal county is extremely sad and it is beyond my comprehension how, at a time like this, even a child would think that making such a threat is an acceptable thing to do."

Paducah Police said in a release Tuesday night that they had investigated a threat made by a student at Paducah Tilghman High School, in which the suspect mentioned the Marshall County Shooting. The suspect had told a 17-year-old girl that an acquaintance had taken responsibility for the Marshall County shooting and told her "and you're next." The suspect was later located and police determined he as not connected to the Marshall County incident.

Police urge parents to tell their children to be vigilant and to not hesitate reporting something that doesn't seem right.
