The 54,000 square foot facility is expected to open in October and will host recreational and tournament events. The sportsplex will feature three high school-regulation basketball courts, a multipurpose turf field and batting cages.

Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks said in a release, "We are also excited to help bring athletes and families from around this region to enjoy our new facility and help our economy."

The Sportsplex is funded as part of the city-county community collaboration known as Hopkinsville-Christian County WINS.
