Kentucky Senate GOP Leaders to Meet in Paducah This Week

LRC Public Information

Kentucky Senate Majority Leadership members are holding their annual retreat in Paducah this year.

The retreat will allow Senate Republicans a chance to discuss and prepare agenda and priorities for the upcoming legislative session in January.

2nd District State Senator Danny Carroll says President Robert Stivers, Floor Leader Damon Thayer and Caucus Chair Dan Seum will attend presentations and tours Wednesday afternoon before the closed door retreat which lasts through Friday.

Paducah Chamber of Commerce President Sandra Wilson says the agenda for those presentations include a look at the WAVE initiative in the Mississippi River counties, tourism operations in the thoroughbred industry, and Paducah’s designation as a UNESCO Creative City.

Following last month’s election, the GOP has control of both chambers of the Kentucky legislature and the governor’s mansion for the first time in 95 years.
