Kentucky State Police Investigating Deadly Shooting in Carlisle Co.

Update: A preliminary autopsy report has confirmed that 52-year-old Kelly Clanahan of Barlow, Ky., died of a gunshot wound. Harold Compton remains hospitalized and is stable but fair condition. Police say Matthew Turnbow fired a shotgun, striking both Clanahan and Compton.

Kentucky State Police is investigating a deadly shooting Saturday night in Carlisle County. 

The Carlisle County Dispatch requested at 9 p.m. KSP investigate a shooting in a residence 3.5 miles north of Bardwell.

A preliminary investigation found homeowner 30-year-old Matthew Turnbow of Bardwell shot and killed 52-year-old Kelly Clanahan of Barlow.

Turnbow also shot 42-year-old Harold Doug Compton of Grand Rivers. Compton was airlifted to Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, and remains in critical, but stable, condition.

The homeowner, Turnbow, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and was served an arrest warrant for a violation of a Kentucky Emergency Protection Order/Domestic Violence Order. He is lodged in the Ballard County Jail.

KSP Detective David Dick is continuing the investigation.
