The Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is looking to fill vacancies on its advisory board.
The 17-member board advises on environmental education efforts and the promotion of public participation in land and resource management planning.
Lyon County judge-executive Wade White - who has appointed two members in his capacity as county judge - says he’s been disappointed with the advisory board’s work in recent years and hopes it will do a better job on land management issues such as logging.
According to the board’s charter, members meet at least twice a year with the most recent meeting occurring in October of last year.
Those interested in being appointed to the board can find more information and an application at this link. Applications are due by Thursday, March 19.
