U.S. Forest Service officials will hold a public listening session later this month to hear ideas and concerns about the management of the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
The park’s scenery management plan has recently courted controversy because of the amount of burning and logging involved in some ongoing projects. The Forest Service, which runs the park, has been on the defensive and is currently in a work slowdown, with no projects operating currently within 150 feet of scenic byway The Trace.
The public meeting will be held Thursday, June 11 at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park’s convention center from 6-8:30 p.m.
