Mobile Vietnam Memorial in Murray
By Seth Helton
Murray, KY – The American Veterans Traveling Tribute is scheduled for a four day visit in Murray this week. The AVTT event sponsored by American Legion Post 73 features a mobile Vietnam Wall exhibit and Cost of Freedom Tribute as part of its stay from June 15 through June 19. The Vietnam Wall display is a four-fifths scale replica of the Vietnam Memorial found in Washington DC. Post 73 member Bill Cowan describes the replica as "roughly the size of a football field." The tribute will feature events and guest speakers each evening at 6 pm. The exhibit opens at noon tomorrow at the Legion's Veterans Hall on North Fourth Street.
