Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes says as of Friday 3,368,119 Kentuckians are registered to vote in the Primary Election on May 22.

Democratic voters represent slightly more than 50 percent of the electorate and Republican voters represent 41 percent. Some 8.5 percent are affiliated with another party or categorized as ‘other.’ The total registered represents a net increase of about 62,000 voters since the 2016 General Election.

More than half of all new registered voters since November 2016 are between the ages of 18 and 25. The deadline to register for the primary was April 23.
