MSU Ceases Library Talks
By Chad Lampe
The Murray State Board of Regents has unexpectedly suspended all internal and external conversations on building a new library. The board voted Friday to cease conversations on its number one agency bond project due to funding limitations and a bleak budget outlook. MSU was prepping to move forward with the building by paying for it with a student fee system. MSU President Dr. Randy Dunn says he recognizes the board’s authority, but he is concerned about shutting off the student fee option that could help fund the building without the help of state aid, which he says could be ten years away.
