Murray Independent School District is in the process of building a new high school. Superintendent Bob Rogers says the project will cost $16 million.
Rogers says the vocational school attached to Murray High will be demolished to serve as the site for the new building. Murray High's existing gyms and cafeteria will remain in use. Rogers says he hopes to have students and staff settled in at the new high school by 2018.
To replace the old vocational school, Murray and Calloway County schools are jointly constructing the New Technology Center on Johnny Robertson Road. Rogers says it should be finished this fall.
