Murray Man Arrested After Police Find His Mother Dead

Police arrested a Murray man late last night after his mother was found dead in an apartment.

Murray Police Sergeant Scott Svebakken says 34 year old Michael Joseph Burke was arrested after a lengthy interrogation. The Paducah Sun reports officers found 55 year old Karen McClellan dead from apparent stab wounds after police responded to a 911 call around 7 pm. Svebakken says Burke was not in the South 13th Street apartment when McClellan was found. Svebakken says Burke was taken to Calloway County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
