A Murray man facing charges including homicide, burglary, evidence tampering and animal cruelty pleaded not guilty Monday morning in Calloway County District Court.

51-year-old Shannon Scott is accused of murdering two women found Thursday night in a residence on Catalina Drive in Murray. He also allegedly killed and hid a dog.

Murray Police officers found one woman in a garage and found the second woman in a next door residence.

WSPD reports the victims were Scott’s girlfriend, 37-year-old Tera Todd, and the girlfriend's elderly aunt, 77-year old Evelyn Scott. Todd reportedly took care of Evelyn Scott, and they lived in the same residence on Catalina Drive.

An autopsy out of Louisville found Todd was stabbed multiple times. Evelyn Scott’s throat was reportedly slit.

Scott’s bond was kept at $2 million. 42nd District Commonwealth Attorney Dennis Foust said prosecutors will try to present an indictment to the grand jury on Friday. Scott’s next court appearance is February 20.
