Paducah Invites Residents to Assist in City's Storm Water Plan

Matt Markgraf, WKMS

The City of Paducah is holding a meeting Monday to review the city’s Comprehensive Storm Water Master Plan.

The consultant for the planning initiative will talk with residents and property owners about storm water flooding issues that have recently affected homes and businesses throughout the community.

Residents will be asked to review and provide feedback on the “draft” flood maps replicating a community flooding incident from 2015.

Paducah Stormwater & Drainage Engineer Eric Hickman says the city is in the final stages of creating a model to help mitigate flooding but says residential feedback is needed to ensure map accuracy.

Residents can attend the meeting at the Robert Cherry Civic Center anytime between 4 and 7:30 p.m.
