Paducah Police Arrest Keeton Inmate On Drug, Possession Charges

Paducah Police Department

Paducah Police arrested an inmate on Thursday from Keeton Correctional facility after catching him with suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Police were called after employees caught Rick Fletcher, 39, in possession of a bag of suspected methamphetamine. Police said he attempted to hide the drug and flush it down the toilet. He admitted he had bought $10 dollars worth of methamphetamine. He also had a pipe used to smoke meth.

The privately-owned halfway house has come under scrutiny from city leaders following a large number of escaped inmates over the past several years. Fletcher was booked into McCracken County Jail.

Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
