Paducah's Broadway/Jefferson Street Conversion Meeting is Tonight

paducahky.gov

Paducah city officials are holding a public forum tonight to discuss potential changes to the flow of two prominent downtown streets.

Citizens will be able to ask questions about the proposal to convert Broadway and Jefferson from one-way to two-way streets from Fountain Avenue to Water Street.

The project would also add buffered bike lanes on each road.

City Manager Jeff Pederson says the project is part the Renaissance Area Master Plan from 2012.

"The information gathered in this engineering contract including the completed striping plan, the engineering study, and the projected costs will be used by the Paducah Board of Commissioners to make future decisions," said Pederson.

In September,Paducah Commissionersapproved a $63,000 dollar contract with HDR Engineering to prepare for a study to examine vehicle and bike lane connectivity and traffic flow downtown.

HDR staff will be present to explain maps and answer questions about the project area.

The meeting is 5pm to 7pm in the Julian Carroll Convention Center lobby.
