Police to Issue Citations to Eggner's Ferry Spectators
By Todd Hatton
Murray, KY – Police have begun issuing citations to spectators who make their way onto the US 68/KY Eggner's Ferry Bridge. Highways officials on Friday warned the public to stay off the remainder of the bridge due to safety concerns. But at one point Sunday afternoon the Coast Guard reported several hundred people out on the structure. The cargo ship Delta Mariner struck one of the bridge spans last Thursday, knocking the section into Kentucky Lake and wrapping steel and concrete across the bow of the ship.
