Officials say an area of southern Calloway County was evacuated yesterday due to a propane truck that had overturned and caught fire.

The Sheriff’s Office says it received report around 11am Tuesday of a propane truck on fire on Murray-Paris Road.

65-year-old Raymond Miller of Murray was driving southbound in a propane truck when the right rear tires slipped off the shoulder causing him to lose control of the vehicle, strike a ditch and overturn.

Murray-Calloway EMS/Rescue and Calloway County Fire Rescue responded.

Miller was able to escape the vehicle with minor injuries.

The surrounding area was evacuated as a precaution.  Calloway County Emergency
