Soldier's Death Under Investigation
By Carrie Pond
Ft. Campbell, KY – The Army is investigating the death of a Fort Campbell soldier who was being treated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for injuries suffered in Iraq. Fort Campbell spokeswoman Kelly Tyler says 22-year-old William Justice Foster McClellan was found dead on Nov. 6 in his barracks room at Walter Reed. She says he was being treated for non-life-threatening shrapnel injuries to his arms and legs. McClellan was assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the 101st Airborne, which returned early from Iraq yesterday. Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear says flags at state office buildings will be lowered to half-staff on Nov. 15, when McClellan will be interred at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.
