Update: 4:00 p.m.

All lanes have been cleared and normal traffic has resumed.

Eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 near the 80 mile marker are blocked in Christian County as Kentucky Transportation Cabinet crews work to handle a semi-truck fire.

The truck operated by R and M Transport of Omaha, Nebraska was carrying frozen food products until one of the tires blew in such a way to result in the truck catching fire.  Oak Grove, Fort Campbell and Herndon Fire Departments are on scene.  The Christian County Health Department is en route.

KYTC is rerouting all eastbound I-24 traffic off at the US68/KY 80 Cadiz Exit 65 interchange.  Detour is via US 68 eastbound to the Pennyrile Parkway Southbound.  Motorists should be alert for stopped or slowed traffic near the 65 mile marker as they will be forced to exit onto US 68.  The closure is expected to last three hours.
