After a whirlwind All Things Considered and a rush through the first half of Marketplace, on Wednesday, September 30, WKMS listeners have reached goal, ending yet another pledge drive early, raising over $125,000 in community support!
WKMS has been on the air for 45 years - this year, what a great way to make a statement to the region that public radio is important in our region and sounds great! Thank you to everyone who gave this Fall, to our sustaining members who give all year, to everyone who gave in our pre-pledge drive before going on air - bringing us already 40% of the way to goal before even starting, to our underwriters, volunteers, food and gift donors, our licensee Murray State University, and to an extra special thanks retiring Station Manager Kate Lochte for your many decades of service.
We have a good thing, together, in WKMS. It's because of you. Great job. Get some rest, keep listening, keep being an ambassador for this station when you're out and about and we'll keep making great radio.
Above and beyond our goal sounds great! Imagine the possibilities...
