  Announcer/News Producer, WKMS-FM.  Murray State University, Full time, non-tenure track position to start July, 2008.  

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree required. Must have excellent ability for on-air vocal performance and technical operations, interviewing and reporting skills; professional news media experience, preferably public radio. Must demonstrate ability in producing digital audio radio newscasts with actualities, news and public affairs feature radio stories with multiple audio inserts.  Successful candidates must have excellent speech, writing, interpersonal, computer and journalism skills.   

Responsibilities:  Enterprise, research, write, edit, produce, download, and voice regional news and compelling local breaks during NPR newsmagazines; work with news team as assigned including, but not limited to:  enterprising and reporting news; training and supervising student interns; archiving; producing FCC quarterly reports; editing commentaries; loading regional news content at wkms.org; and broadcasting special public affairs news including but not limited to coverage of regional emergencies and elections.  Participate in station promotion and fundraising activities.
