About WKMS
WKMS is a public radio service affiliated with National Public Radio (NPR) and certified by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).
WKMS is supported financially by its listener-members, and by gifts from the Jackson Purchase Area community and Murray State University.
WKMS is licensed to the Board of Regents of Murray State University and is operated in the public interest as an outreach to the Jackson Purchase Area, which includes Western Kentucky, Northwestern Tennessee, and Southern Ilinois, and a small part of Southeastern Missouri.
WKMS broadcasts in analog FM stereo and HD Digital on 91.3 MHz, with 100,000 watts analog and 1,000 watts digital, from an antenna 600 feet above average terrain. The station offers 2 independent channels of programming: HD-1 and HD-2.
