In last night's men's OVC basketball action, Murray State won their road game against South East Missouri State, 75 to 66, clinching their third straight regular season OVC championship. The Racers are number 16 in the nation according to the Associated Press poll. They'll face one of their toughest opponents this season when they square off against number 21 St. Mary's in Saturday's ESPN Bracketbuster game. Tip off is at 5pm at the CFSB Center. Well- known sportscaster Dick Vitale will call the game for ESPN.

Theatre Workshop of Owensboro is running Steven Sodenheim’s famous musical “Sweeney Todd” about a vengeful barber in post-industrial London. Benjamin Barker returns from 15 years in exile with a new alias- Sweeney Todd. Todd teams up with his old neighbor Mrs. Lovett and they devise a murderous partnership that also provides income for their day jobs. Todd slits the throats of his barbershop customers and disposes of the bodies in Mrs. Lovett’s bakery where she makes meat pies.

The Battle of Fort Donelson took place near Dover, Tennessee 150 years ago. The battle lasted six days and ended in surrender to Union forces. Today, residents of Dover are commemorating that battle with a series of events. Rose Krzton-Presson visited Dover and spoke with community members about how the town’s history has shaped what it is today.

Kentucky author, farmer and environmental activist Wendell Berry has been named the 41st Jefferson Lecturer in the Humanities by the National Endowment for the Humanities. As part of the award, Berry will deliver a lecture on April 23 in Washington, DC.  The speech’s title is “It All Turns on Affection,” and in it Berry will discuss human beings’ interaction with nature.

MURRAY, KY (WKMS) - Maybe you know someone with a tough exterior and a hidden heart of gold, someone with an internal kindness only revealed to those closest to them. Author Robert Louis Stevenson called this kind of person a "lantern bearer." Commentator Duane Bolin examines this trait in Stevenson's essay and in his own life.
