A fake account on the Hopkins County School System Facebook page confused some parents trying to get information about school closings Tuesday night. Community Engagement Specialist Lori Harrison is the administrator for the school’s page. Harrison says another account that looked similar to the official one posted inappropriate comments on the site.

The Hopkins County Health Department is continuing to wait for over $300,000 of reimbursement from one of the Commonwealth’s three managed-care organizations. 

While many school districts in the region have a sign in and sign out policy for visitors, at least one western Kentucky school district is tightening its security policy. In the wake of the Connecticut elementary school shooting, visitors to Hopkins County Schools will have to present a valid form of ID at the front office before getting a visitor’s pass.
