Ledbetter Bridge Lane Restriction Wednesday

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will restrict traffic to one lane on the U.S. 60 Tennessee River Bridge at Ledbetter tomorrow. The restriction allows inspectors to take a close look at the bridge’s structure.  Highway engineers have been inspecting the span on an accelerated schedule since a three-ton load limit was instituted earlier this year. Transportation officials say the bridge carries more than 7,000 vehicles across the Tennessee River between Paducah and Ledbetter on an average day.

Ledbetter Bridge Could Open May 2013: One Year Ahead of Schedule

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear announced Thursday a plan to accelerate construction of the new U.S. 60 Tennessee River Bridge between Paducah and Ledbetter, enabling motorists to begin using it more than a year ahead of schedule.

US 60 Ledbetter Barges/Crane on Track to Reopen

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to resume hanging steel on the new US 60 Ledbetter Bridge next Monday. C.J. Mahan Contracting has had construction crews working on other phases of the project while a salvage team has been working to re-float a crane barge at the site.

Sinking Crane at Ledbetter Bridge Site

Divers, tomorrow, will assess a sinking barge and crane being used to help construct the new US 60 Ledbetter Bridge. Workers at the bridge site which connects McCracken and Livingston Counties noticed the leak while on a routine safety check this weekend.
