MSU Regional Outreach Funds 10 Projects

The Murray State University office of regional outreach has allocated $158,000 to regional projects. The advisory council selected 10 projects in its 18-county service region, including grants for science, technology engineering and mathematics education and early childhood learning.

Walker Heads Back to Court on Tampering Charges

Former Murray State student, and newly reinstated Paducah Middle School assistant principal, Jerry Walker, Junior will be back in court next week on charges related to a 1998 M-S-U dorm fire that killed student Michael Minger.

Murray State Ranks at Top in U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News and World Report magazine ranks Murray State University at the top among universities granting merit scholarships.  They report nearly 77 percent of Murray State undergraduates win non-need-based scholarships and grants. Those scholarships total more than one-point-six million dollars a year.

Currently, Stanford offers online courses on subjects such as cryptography and human-computer interaction — all free, but without credit.

Today on NPR: Now that Stanford, Harvard and other top American universities are offering free online courses, will students one day be able to get course credits and degrees online from these schools without having to pay for it? Stanford's president says his school "can see moving in that direction."
